Pre-Licensing Course ages 14-17

Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) is a 6-hour course, required by the Florida DMV to obtain your Florida Driving Permit if you are under the age of 18. 

As of August 1, 2025, Any individual who is under 18 years old and has never held a driver license from any other state, country or jurisdiction must complete a 6-hour DETS course before applying for a license in Florida.

This Prep Course for the DMV Permit Exam will give you the resources necessary to successfully pass the Florida DVM Permit Exam. Unfortunately, you only have 3 opportunities to pass the Permit Exam; however, completing this prep course will significantly increase your probability of passing the permit test on your first attempt and avoiding the time, fee, and frustration of having to retake it.

All drivers getting their first driver’s license in Florida are required to get a learner permit. You can now take your Florida DMV Permit Test online if you are under the age of 18, and if you have completed the 6-hour Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) course.

This standalone DMV Online Permit Test is only for those under the age of 18 and that have completed the 6-hour Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) course.

The Florida DMV test (also known as the Permit Test) covers road signs and road rules and avoids the need of taking the test at the DMV. The Florida Class E DMV/Permit Online Exam will consist of 50 questions that will cover:
– Road Signs
– Road Rules
